About Bright Future Psychology

At Bright Future Psychology, we believe psychological evaluations should do more than produce scores, percentiles, or diagnoses. They should create understanding.

Families and individuals come to us because something isn’t quite adding up — a student who is capable but struggling, an adult who has worked hard yet still feels overwhelmed, or a learner whose strengths are being overlooked while challenges take center stage. Our role is to slow down, look closely, and help make sense of the full picture.

A Note from Our Founder

When families and individuals come to Bright Future Psychology, they are often seeking clarity — not just answers on a report, but a deeper understanding of why something feels hard and what can truly help.

From the beginning, my vision for this practice has been to offer psychological evaluations that go beyond scores, labels, and percentiles. While those tools are important, they rarely tell the full story on their own. I believe the most meaningful evaluations are those that take the time to understand the whole person — how they think, learn, manage daily demands, and experience the world around them.

Neurodevelopmental profiles vary widely from person to person. Each individual brings a unique combination of strengths, challenges, and experiences. Our role is to approach that complexity with curiosity and care — to listen closely, look deeply, and connect the pieces in a way that feels accurate, respectful, and useful.

Every evaluation we conduct is carefully tailored to the individual and the questions being explored. We dig beneath the surface to understand not just what is happening, but why. Just as importantly, we place strong emphasis on identifying strengths, as these are often key to building confidence and guiding meaningful support.

Our reports are designed to bring clarity — for families, schools, colleges, and other providers — so that recommendations feel practical, individualized, and aligned with the person behind the evaluation. The goal is not simply understanding for its own sake, but understanding that leads to appropriate accommodations, effective support, and greater confidence moving forward.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our approach. We are honored to be part of this process and to support individuals and families as they work toward a clearer, more supported path ahead.

Warmly,
Dr. Hanna Kallstrom, Psy.D.
Founder, Bright Future Psychology

““She took the time to explain each step so we understood the findings and recommendations.”

Our Philosophy

We specialize in highly individualized psychological evaluations designed to provide deep, meaningful understanding. There is no single template, checklist, or “standard battery” that fits every person — and we don’t approach our work that way.

Instead, we dig deep.

We take the time to understand why challenges are occurring, how a person’s brain processes information, and how strengths and vulnerabilities interact in real life. Numbers matter — but understanding matters more.

Rather than presenting pages of scores alone, we focus on explaining how patterns across assessments connect to learning, behavior, and daily functioning.

A Whole-Person View

We look at the whole individual, not isolated test scores.

That means carefully examining learning, attention, executive functioning, emotional and social factors, and developmental history — while also identifying strengths that are just as important as areas of difficulty.

Many of the individuals we work with are neurodivergent. We view neurodiversity as a natural variation in how brains work, not something to be “fixed.” Neurodivergent traits can bring both strengths and challenges, and both deserve recognition, respect, and thoughtful support.

Our goal is not to pathologize difference, but to understand it — and to help individuals thrive within it.

Deeply Tailored Evaluations

Every evaluation we provide is custom-designed based on the individual’s age, history, concerns, and goals. We do not believe in cookie-cutter assessments.

Whether questions involve learning differences, attention, executive functioning, autism, giftedness, academic performance, or diagnostic clarification in adolescence or adulthood, we tailor the process to ensure the evaluation truly fits the person — not the other way around.

Reports That Create Clarity

Our reports are intentionally detailed, narrative, and explanatory.

They are written to be understood — not just by psychologists, but by families, schools, colleges, and other providers. We translate complex findings into clear, meaningful insights that help others truly understand the individual behind the results.

This level of clarity supports appropriate accommodations, educational planning, and collaboration across settings.

Reports are commonly used to support:

  • Educational planning and accommodations
  • School-based services and interventions
  • College and graduate school accommodations
  • Standardized testing accommodations
  • Ongoing clinical or support services

Support That Extends Beyond the Evaluation

An evaluation is not an endpoint. It is a tool.

Our recommendations are practical, individualized, and focused on helping people function more effectively in daily life — at school, in college, at work, and at home. We emphasize understanding, realistic expectations, and supportive strategies rather than labels alone.

How We Begin

Because our work is so individualized, we begin with a consultation to ensure our services are the right fit for your needs. Not every concern requires the same type of evaluation, and part of our role is helping families and individuals determine the most appropriate next step.

We value intentional, thoughtful care — and that starts with listening.

  • Strengths alongside challenges
  • Neurodiversity-affirming care
  • Clear communication and meaningful guidance

Every brain is different. Our work is about helping each individual be understood — fully, respectfully, and clearly.
